Art Classes
Journey Through the Arts offers various themes and classes as well as a longer term homeschool program. Please visit the website for further info, pricing, and registration.
The Art Gallery of Northumberland occasionally offers classes for homeschoolers during the day. Workshops will be posted on our events page as they come up.
Library
Brighton Public Library is a certified homeschool friendly library! Staff are trained on various aspects of home based learning and offer many resources and supports for home learners. Please visit their homeschool page for more information!
Port Hope Library offers a homeschooling program with trips to local places in the community. Please see our events page for more information.
Colborne Library welcomes homeschoolers on the second Monday of each month from 2:30pm - 4:00pm. The library staff lead a program for us on a variety of topics with games and crafts.
Campbellford Library offers space for a parent led program on Mondays from 1pm - 3pm as well as the annual Rotary Spelling Bee in the Spring which gives homeschoolers the opportunity to compete and send winners to join in at a regional level.
Quinte West Library meets on the first Monday of every month for ages 6+. Registration is required.
Nature Programs
Child of the Wild hosts nature day programs at various locations- Belleville, Cobourg, Hastings, Lakefield, and Warkworth. Please visit this link for more information.
Ganaraska Conservation offers March Break and Summer “Nature Nuts” Camps.
The Cabin Outdoor Learning Space offers various outdoor learning opportunities.
The Happy Wanderers offers Tuesday and Saturday programs.
Thrive Body offers yoga and movement classes as well as longer drop off programs to explore nature and mindfulness.

YMCA Cobourg provides multiple homeschooling programs throughout the week, including sports skills, rock climbing, swimming, etc. Please see their website for information, dates, and registration.
Baltimore Community Centre welcomes homeschoolers during their parent and tot hours on Fridays from 11am to 12pm. This is free.
Swimming Lessons
Jack Burger Sports Complex offers group lessons for homeschooled children. See the Port Hope recreation guide or contact the complex for more information. Call 905-885-2474 for more information.
Cross Country
The Cobourg Legion Branch 133 Youth Track Club is for serious track and field competitors. It is mainly for high school aged youth, but high performing middle schoolers may be considered. Training sessions are held twice weekly during January and February at the Cobourg Community Centre. Club members compete at the Legion’s indoor provincial championships at York University. Registration is early December.
Homeschool Cross Country Race Milne Dam Conservation Park, Markham, Ontario. Grades 1-4, 1km. Grades 5-8, 2km. Grades 9-12, 3km. Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, ribbons for 4th, 5th, and 6th places. For more information and registration forms, contact wilmaward@rogers.com.
